Appointment of new Chief Secretary in Uttar Pradesh: Who missed the bus?
With Shashi Prakash Goyal’s appointment as the Chief Secretary of UP, IAS officers from the 1990 batch now are officially ruled out of ever becoming Chief Secretary in Uttar Pradesh. Goyal is at the helm until at least 2027. The IAS officers who missed the bus include Himanshu Kumar, who will retire in October 2025, Deepak Kumar who will Step down in September 2025, Sudhir M Bawde in September 2025 and Archana Agarwal will reach her superannuation in September 2026.
